What made you come back to the business?
I was actually only gone for a whole 7 or 8 weeks! I missed Wejo immediately, from the people to the tech. I felt like I really grew in my role here, I didn’t just develop my skills, but also felt like I was part of the greater good at Wejo too!
Working at Wejo allows so much opportunity for growth, the tech is at the forefront, the people know their stuff, and we all work together on a common goal - we’re not just pushing paper around a desk.
I honestly felt extremely lucky to be able to come back and re-join my Wejo family!
What recommendations you would give to someone else leaving?
No – don’t, you can’t! (please!): I’d tell them about my experience, make sure they truly thought it through, and make sure to always leave the door open so you can come back!
For people that are thinking of joining Wejo: It’s a great place to work - it’s exciting, different, and challenging – but most importantly it’s incredibly rewarding. It takes a while to get used to our way of working (some might say, a we-journey!), but it is worth it!
What is it you like about Wejo?
First and foremost; the people – we talk a lot about Wejo Family, but it really does feel like that, I love my team – we work all well together, and I feel like I have a voice.
Then there’s the tech – I like learning new things and playing around with new products, we have a lot of flex here to work with new tools and choose how we get the job done.
This leads me to autonomy – I have been in a lot of jobs where it felt like our every movement was being logged! We all work hard at Wejo, we start work early and finish late – but there’s a level of trust, and we always deliver!
And finally, it’s fast-paced, if something needs to be done, we don’t waste any time, we don’t need to go through several tiers of management to get something changed. We all work together to get the job done.
How is it currently going for you?
It is like I never left!
It has been a few months now since I returned, and I don’t think anyone was surprised to see me back, I think my last words were “see you in two weeks when I come back!” (which was pretty accurate!).
Everyone was really happy to have me back and they made me feel like I was back where I belong, it really was my Homecoming (and Coco’s too)!
