BID MANAGER
The Bid Manager will support initiatives, functions, and goals of Wejo These variable tasks will include working with department members in the creation of best practices processes
The Bid Manager will manage, develop and deliver Presales / Bid offerings for Wejo OEM Solutions (Data Platforms as a Service, Software as a Service, Data Intelligence, System Integration, Professional Services, etc.). Assists the Sales manager and leads international bid teams in delivering state-of-the-art proposals that contribute to achieving Wejo’s sales plan.
Demonstrate strong proposal and process management experience. The role requires working closely with client-facing professionals and the ability to provide strategic pursuit guidance, develop compliant proposal structures, outlines, and high-quality final deliverables that meet Wejo formatting styles and brand guidelines.
The Bid Manager may be expected to provide “just-in-time” training and guidance on proposal processes, best practices, tools and other proposal guidelines.
Be expected to exercise highly-skilled competencies relating to mining, validating, and use of reusable proposal content. The ability to edit/repurpose collateral originally developed for other purposes into quality reusable proposal content.
The Bid Manager will focus on three aspects of the opportunity lifecycle:
• Support Wejo’s business goals, customer acquisition, increase market/wallet share through professional support of proposal-related opportunities. leading "must-win" opportunities
• Effective engagement of account teams and other internal & partner resources,
• Significantly contribute to the development and continuous improvement of proposal and capture management processes, tools, and templates.
With responsibility across multiple, concurrent bids, this position is characterized by shifting priorities, stringent deadlines, last minute requirements, and successful accomplishment of bid management tasks within non-negotiable client deadlines. The Bid Manager must be capable of handling a large workload, with strict deadlines and time demands and must be responsive to changing schedules and deal scope.
The Bid Manager will work with other team members, client-facing sales professionals, solution experts, and other resources across Wejo worldwide, supporting Wejo’s successful growth.
Responsibilities:
• Manages to build and deliver in a timely manner, documents to address requests, such as proposals, or quotations from Wejo prospects or customers
• Manage the complexity of large bids, with a focus on leading, providing experienced counsel to assist bid teams in using proven strategies & tactics, to improve their win rates
• Draw on industry expertise, bid standards, best practices and resources, while guiding Wejo teams in the development of; clear competitive differentiators, win strategies and themes, compelling Executive Summaries, high-quality proposals & value propositions
• Effectively facilitate, manage, and support each bid process phase, including Kickoff, Win Strategy development, and Review Teams
• Be able to manage, motivate and work with virtual resources and teams at all levels in both Wejo and with its partners
• Assists the Sales Manager in promoting the solution in its product, service and business aspects during customer meetings, or conference calls. Participates in the definition of the solution and sales strategy to approach specific prospects and close deals
• Work closely with account teams and other internal resources as well as fellow Bid Practice members to develop and deliver on-time clear, concise, and accurate proposals
• Adhere to Wejo’s visual identity and trademark guidelines
• Use competitive intelligence and information regarding competitors’ practices
• Follow-up with account teams, solution matter experts, and other bid resources to review engagements, capture relevant data, analyze results, and improve future outcomes
• Assist in the development of quality process', practices, tools, and templates
• Effectively mine and maintain reusable proposal content
Candidate Qualifications, Education, Experience, Characteristics
• A minimum of four-five years’ direct bid management knowledge / experience – preferably in the Automotive, Telecom and IT industries – and related technologies
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to foster a cooperative work environment and work effectively with a wide range of contributing areas - Sales Management, Product Development, Marketing, Professional Services groups
• Ability to create, compose, and edit excellent high-quality written materials, compelling proposals, that showcase Wejo offerings, while under timing pressure
